
Mr. Helmer was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1946. Mr. Helmer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in 1968. After receiving his B.A. from the University of Colorado, Mr. Helmer also attended graduate school and spent some time in the United States Army Reserves, and then attended the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado in 1973, Mr. Helmer went to work for Hollenbeck, King, French & Mills in Boulder, Colorado, where he practiced for a short while before moving to the mountains of Colorado in 1976.



Monica was born and raised in Pennington Gap, Virginia, until she moved to Georgia to attend law school. After practicing law for five years in Virginia, she and her husband moved to Summit County, Colorado in 1997, where they have remained ever since. She has practiced law with David Helmer since that time. Monica practices in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, civil and criminal litigation.
Natalie grew up in Scotland and practiced personal injury law in Ayrshire, Scotland before relocating to Colorado in 2002. She has been with the firm of Helmer & McElyea, LLC since 2002, working first as a paralegal until she passed the Colorado Bar Exam in 2004.
Tony is a native of Southern California, having graduated from University of California, San Diego (B.S.) and Pepperdine University Law School (J.D.). After practicing in Newport Beach, CA, he relocated to Colorado in 1994 to practice commercial/business and health care law. In 1997, Tony received his master's degree in taxation from the University of Denver.
